Cassandra Guarino is Professor of Education and Public Policy at the University of California Riverside.  She was formerly Associate Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Indiana University Bloomington and Assistant Professor of Education at Michigan State University. She obtained her PhD in the Economics of Education from Stanford University in 1999, after which she worked as an economist at the Rand Corporation. Her research focuses on value-added models of teacher and school effectiveness, teacher quality, teacher labor markets, school choice, and issues in which health and education are linked. She has taught courses in education policy, economics of education, policy analysis, quantitative research methods, school choice, value-added modeling, and microeconomics.
